शंख से नहीं चढ़ाते शिवलिंग पर जल, आखिर क्यों ?

हम सब जानते है की पूजन कार्य में शंख का उपयोग महत्वपूर्ण होता है। लगभग सभी देवी-देवताओं को शंख से जल चढ़ाया जाता है लेकिन शिवलिंग पर शंख से जल चढ़ाना वर्जित माना गया है।  आखिर क्यों शिवजी को शंख से जल अर्पित नहीं करते है ? इस संबंध में शिवपुराण में एक कथा बताई गई है।

शिवपुराण की कथा

शिवपुराण के अनुसार शंखचूड नाम का महापराक्रमी दैत्य हुआ। शंखचूड दैत्यराम दंभ का पुत्र था। दैत्यराज दंभ को जब बहुत समय तक कोई संतान उत्पन्न नहीं हुई तब उसने भगवान विष्णु के लिए कठिन तपस्या की। तप से प्रसन्न होकर विष्णु प्रकट हुए। विष्णुजी ने वर मांगने के लिए कहा तब दंभ ने तीनों लोको के लिए अजेय एक महापराक्रमी पुत्र का वर मांगा। श्रीहरि तथास्तु बोलकर अंतध्र्यान हो गए। तब दंभ के यहां एक पुत्र का जन्म हुआ जिसका नाम शंखचूड़ पड़ा। शंखचुड ने पुष्कर में ब्रह्माजी के निमित्त घोर तपस्या की और उन्हें प्रसन्न कर लिया। ब्रह्मा ने वर मांगने के लिए कहा तब शंखचूड ने वर मांगा कि वो देवताओं के लिए अजेय हो जाए। ब्रह्माजी ने तथास्तु बोला और उसे श्रीकृष्णकवच दिया। साथ ही ब्रह्मा ने शंखचूड को धर्मध्वज की कन्या तुलसी से विवाह करने की आज्ञा दी। फिर वे अंतध्र्यान हो गए।

ब्रह्मा की आज्ञा से तुलसी और शंखचूड का विवाह हो गया। ब्रह्मा और विष्णु के वरदान के मद में चूर दैत्यराज शंखचूड ने तीनों लोकों पर स्वामित्व स्थापित कर लिया। देवताओं ने त्रस्त होकर विष्णु से मदद मांगी परंतु उन्होंने खुद दंभ को ऐसे पुत्र का वरदान दिया था अत: उन्होंने शिव से प्रार्थना की। तब शिव ने देवताओं के दुख दूर करने का निश्चय किया और वे चल दिए। परंतु श्रीकृष्ण कवच और तुलसी के पतिव्रत धर्म की वजह से शिवजी भी उसका वध करने में सफल नहीं हो पा रहे थे तब विष्णु ने ब्राह्मण रूप बनाकर दैत्यराज से उसका श्रीकृष्णकवच दान में ले लिया। इसके बाद शंखचूड़ का रूप धारण कर तुलसी के शील का हरण कर लिया। अब शिव ने शंखचूड़ को अपने त्रिशुल से भस्म कर दिया और उसकी हड्डियों से शंख का जन्म हुआ। चूंकि शंखचूड़ विष्णु भक्त था अत: लक्ष्मी-विष्णु को शंख का जल अति प्रिय है और सभी देवताओं को शंख से जल चढ़ाने का विधान है। परंतु शिव ने चूंकि उसका वध किया था अत: शंख का जल शिव को निषेध बताया गया है। इसी वजह से शिवजी को शंख से जल नहीं चढ़ाया जाता है।

Anxiety and its types

When you think about anxiety, you may not realize that there are different types of anxiety. The most common types of anxiety include social anxiety, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, phobias, and generalized anxiety. So, what do they all mean?

Social Anxiety is anxiety or feelings of anxiety that occur either in a social situation, or in anticipation of a social situation. If social anxiety is not effectively dealt with, it can become a problem, not allowing the person who suffers from this anxiety to put themselves in feared social situations.

Panic Disorder exists when a person suffers from panic attacks or from feelings of intense fear for no obvious reason. The symptoms of a panic attack may be very severe, and the person may even think that they are having a heart attack. It is important to note that one cannot die from a panic attack, even though they

may feel that they are indeed dying. With panic disorder, one might fear having a panic attack to the point of causing one.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder occurs when one has experienced something traumatic. This often does not happen immediately after the event. It could happen days, weeks, months, or even years after the trauma has been experienced. The person may have flashbacks of the trauma, and this can prevent one from living a normal life.

Phobias entail many different things. One might fear spiders, snakes, water, heights, driving, or any number of things. The fear that one feels, however, is not normal in that it is often greatly exaggerated. This does not mean that the person is exaggerating the fear that they feel. In fact, the fear that they feel is very real -- to them. Phobias tend to make people avoid things in life that they may otherwise enjoy. For example, one might fear spiders to the extent that they would never take a walk on a wooded path, where spiders might exist.

Finally, we have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or GAD. Some people feel that this is what is diagnosed when there is no other cause for anxiety found, however that is not the case. GAD occurs when one is constantly worried about every aspect of their life. It can be very disabling. People who suffer from GAD worry about themselves, their family, their friends, and the entire world. If you've been having feelings of anxiety or anxiety attacks, it is important to seek treatment and to determine what type of anxiety you have, so that the cause can be found and treatment can be administered.

Conducting space missions may soon be within your grasp as scientists, including one of Indian-origin, are developing a tiny spacecraft that may allow hobbyists to launch space probes at radically cheaper costs. The spacecraft, called SunCube FemtoSat, is a 3cm cube being developed by Jekan Thanga, assistant professor at Arizona State University and a team of undergraduate students including Aman Chandra. Thanga envisions a "constellation of spacecraft" - a swarm of them could inspect damaged spacecraft from many angles, for example. Launch and launch-integration costs currently run into USD 60,000-70,000 per kilogramme. "These high costs put out of reach most educational institutions and individuals from the ability to build and launch their own spacecraft," researchers said. Launch expenses for the SunCube FemtoSat will cost about USD 1,000 to go to the International Space Station (ISS) or USD 3,000 for flight into low-Earth orbit. Earth escape will cost about USD 27,000. Parts cost for a SunCube FemtoSat should run in the hundreds of dollars. A garage hobbyist could literally fly their own mission, researchers said. One example is the solar panels. They are not available off the shelf in this size, so researchers cut them from scraps sold at a huge discount by manufacturers. "There's a whole community out there interested in this idea of low-cost, swarms of disposable spacecraft," Thanga said. They are getting smaller and smaller, thanks to smartphone tech, which has miniaturised everything. "We're interested in tackling the space access problem. What if we can have students send experiments into space? With something as small as this, you can make mistakes and send again," Thanga said. Thanga sees the femtosat as a starting point for educators, researchers and scientists, and policy makers. He envisions femtosats being sold on e-commerce websites one day. The femtosats will help provide hands-on design, integration and testing experience middle school and university students, researchers said. Researchers can use miniature centrifuges to perform artificial-gravity experiments, with fluids, solid particles and for biochemical and pharmaceutical research. Femtosats may also be used for space imaging

Ascended Masters

Ascended Masters and the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth

On Earth we reincarnate in order to learn karmic lessons and thereby evolve spiritually. When we have mastered the cycle of reincarnation, we have a choice – to start a new cycle of experience on a more advanced planet, or to remain on Earth as Ascended Masters in order to help the rest of humankind. A person as advanced as this will make their choice according to what they know to be the right thing to do, not according to their own personal likes and dislikes.

The Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth / The Great White Brotherhood
The Ascended Masters comprise what is known as the “Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth”, also known as the “Great White Brotherhood”, though the latter is a potentially misleading name in that Ascended Masters are not all male, and not all white – in fact Caucasian Masters are in the minority. The term “white” refers to the type of magic used – a term which goes back at least to the ancient Yoga Sutras of Pantajali (Chapter IV, verse 7).

It should however be noted that some non-ascended individuals are also in the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth or are closely connected with it.

Why Ascended Masters don’t walk openly among us
Due to the karmic pattern of humankind as a whole, the Ascended Masters are not, by Divine Law, allowed to walk openly among us. We are not yet advanced enough to deserve this – and the world as a whole would not handle such a situation correctly. These beings deserve the utmost reverence and love, and should be treated virtually as Gods, whose every teaching should be obeyed to the letter without question. Were they to walk among us and be ridiculed, ignored or even attacked – this would simply make our karma even worse.

The abilities of Ascended Masters
An Ascended Master is effectively immortal. They do not physically age like we do, and when they do change their physical structures, which they may do at times, they do so consciously, and remain as adults throughout the process.

They have colossal powers. For example, an Ascended Master could sit in a blast furnace without being burned, and could cut a mountain in half using nothing but the power of thought. They also have tremendous powers of clairvoyance. But their most important attributes are their great wisdom – and compassion.

They live mainly beneath different mountains throughout the world, and have retreats in the following locations: Grand Teton, Mount Shasta and Castle Peak in the USA; Luxor in Egypt; Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania; Ben MacDhui in Scotland; the Andes; Sri Lanka; and the Himalayas. There are also other lesser retreats. Retreats specialize in different activities, for example the Ben MacDhui retreat specialises in monitoring all spiritual organisations throughout the world.

They also work with spiritual energy in various ways. For example, they have spiritual energy batteries, like we use in Operation Prayer Power, but no doubt of superior quality. Another example is a ritual known as “The Festival of Carrying the Light”, as described in Dr. King’s booklet of the same name, in which high quality spiritual energy is sent out as a blessing to the world.

One of their key roles is the performance of a Mission known as Operation Earth Light – which was devised by Dr. King but was too advanced for The Aetherius Society to be able to adequately perform. This Mission was designed to slowly release a part of the energy the Mother Earth received in her Primary Initiation on July 8th, 1964. This careful release is altering conditions on Earth in a gradual manner, so that as many people as possible can adjust to the higher vibrations of the coming new age. Through Operation Earth Light power is manipulated to the higher aspects of the Devic Kingdom (forces of nature) so that they can perform their function without having to use the discolored energies sent to them by the wrong thought of the mass of humanity.

The Ascended Masters are also involved at times in spiritual teaching, either directly to certain advanced individuals, or through a medium of some kind. However, this is much rarer than is often thought – and, sadly, there are many false claims. As a rule, Ascended Masters only contact very advanced people, and they always have a very good reason for doing so when they do.

The most important function of the Ascended Masters is simply being who they are and being on Earth. They affect the karmic balance of Earth very favorably, and Dr. King stated that he believed humankind would only last on Earth about three and a half days without them, because of the negative karma which would quickly befall us in their absence.

Examples of members of the Spiritual Hierarchy of Earth
The Lord Babaji – is the spiritual and political head of the Hierarchy, and unlike Count Saint Germain, the Master Saint Goo-Ling and others (see below), is a Cosmic Master rather than one of the Ascended Masters, which means that he is not from this Earth. He comes instead from the planet Saturn, which is the most advanced planet in this system. Dr. King has stated that he is the greatest Master who has ever come to Earth, and that he has been in the same physical body for 3000 million years. Some interesting stories about this Master appear in the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda which is highly recommended by The Aetherius Society.

The Lord Maitreya – a high-ranking member who is on the Inner Council of the Spiritual Hierarchy. He features prominently in ancient Hindu Vedic writings under the name Maitreya Rishi, and is the teacher of Count Saint Germain.

Saint Goo-Ling – though not well known like the Lord Maitreya, Saint Goo-Ling is nevertheless “Keeper of the Great Seal” and as such one of the most prominent members of the Hierarchy. He has spoken through Dr. King in trance on numerous occasions, often giving advice and instruction to members of The Aetherius Society, and introduces each of The Twelve Blessings and The Nine Freedoms. He has been in the same physical body for some 2000 years.

Count Saint Germain – is probably the most well-known Ascended Master because more than any other, to our knowledge, he has mixed with people who, from a spiritual perspective, are very ordinary, including European royalty. He did this, we are told, for 695 years – causing quite a stir, and there are numerous anecdotes about him, especially, it would seem, in France around the 17th and 18th centuries. Highly intelligent and charismatic, one of the most remarkable things which would have been noticed about him was that of course he did not age like we do. Various identities have been attributed to him, including, rightly or wrongly, Prince Rakoczy (also spelled Rákóczi), and Christian Rosenkreuz, the legendary founder of the mystical order of Rosicrucianism in the 15th century.

Swami Vivekananda – Dr. King stated that the great Indian yogi, Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) is now an Ascended Master in the Spiritual Hierarchy. A yogi who combined deep spirituality with a commanding intellect, he was a leading disciple of the holy saint Sri Ramakrishna. He brought eastern wisdom to the west when he represented Hinduism at The World’s Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893, in a speech as remarkable for its brilliant oratory as its profound message. He promoted the Vedanta philosophy in America, Britain and other parts of Europe, later returning to his native India, and died at the age of 39 years 5 months and 24 days, thus fulfilling his own prophecy that he would die before the age of 40.

Madame Blavatsky – Dr. King also revealed that Madame Blavatsky (1831-1891) is a member of the Spiritual Hierarchy, though we do not know whether or not she is actually an Ascended Master now. A controversial and colorful figure, she has, with some justification, been termed the “Mother of the New Age”, in deference to her paradigm-shifting contribution to spiritual thought in the 19th century. A central figure in the founding of the Theosophical Society in New York in 1875, she claimed contact with various advanced spiritual intelligences, known as “Mahatmas”. The exact spiritual status of these Mahatmas is unclear, but it would seem probable that they were either members of the Hierarchy, or closely connected with it, notable examples being those intelligences known as the Masters Morya and Kuthumi (also spelled Koot Hoomi).
